
Matthew Dickinson has been the director of the Hershey Community Chorus since August, 2019. His background in Music Education includes both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s Degree from Lebanon Valley College. He began teaching choral and general music at Lower Dauphin Middle School in 1995. He has conducted choral festivals in Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, and Westmoreland counties. Matt is passionate about music education and is honored to be part of LVC’s adjunct faculty for the Master’s Music Education program. In 2005 he was honored with the George M. Leader Excellence in Education Award.
In addition to teaching, Matt has been the Music Director at Trinity United Methodist Church in Hummelstown since 1966. Matt followed his mentor, Dr. Mark Mecham, as the director of the Lebanon County Choral Society for 11 years and for the past several years has served as the Assistant. Matt has sung with the Susquehanna Chorale, the Festival Chamber Singers of Shippensburg, has been featured on several recordings and regularly sought after as a tenor soloist.
Matt lives in Palmyra with his wife Angela, daughters Annie and Emma, son Levi, and a collection of critters who are headlined by the cat, Meep.
